On Oct. 15, 2018, the AICM Occupational Health and Safety workshop was held at Honeywell headquarters at Huanke Road in Shanghai. The theme of the workshop was "Personal Safety and Sharing of Best Practices". More than 10 representatives from Honeywell, Clariant, Dow, BASF and Merck attended the workshop.
Zhu Wenjie, Chairman of AICM Occupational Health and Safety Branch and Dow's Expert on Occupational Health and Safety, introduced the theme of the workshop and the attendees. Ms Song Rong Hua, Chairman of the AICM Responsible Care Committee and President of Sustainable Development and Legal Affairs of Clariant Greater China, made an opening speech for the workshop.
As the venue provider, Allen Wang, Manager of HSE Centers of Excellence in Asia Pacific Region of Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies, briefed attendees on Honeywell's safety culture, especially the implementation of quarterly safety theme activities.
At the workshop, Miranda Li from Dow Chemical introduced the personal safety organization and requirements framework and discussed with attendees how to find new technologies to improve personal safety performance in the field.
Sunny Cheng and Allen Wang, experts of Personal Safety and Industrial Health in Asia Pacific Region of Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies, introduced the "Great Blue Eagle Project" currently implemented by Honeywell. The attendees showed great interest in the development and implementation of the "Great Blue Eagle Project", and discussed such topics as the organic combination between field work and software, and the man-machine interface.
As the workshop drew to a close, attendees discussed the next step of AICM’s work strategy and how to reach out to the chemical manufacturing industry to share best practices, and improve personal safety performance
