On April 18, 2019 Beijing -- AICM Board Directors had a meeting with Responsible Care Leadership Group (RCLG) delegates of International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) headed by Baoudouin Kelecom, RCLG Chairman with other 4 senior representatives from Japanese Chemical Industry Association (JCIA), European Chemical Association (CEFIC) as well as American Chemistry Council (ACC). Jeff Zhu, Chairman of AICM welcomed the ICCA delegates to attend AICM Responsible Care Award and Open to Public Day kickoff event on April 18 and the joint China Responsible Care Conference by AICM and China Petrochemical and Chemical Federation (CPCIF) on April 19.
RCLG expressed its high appreciation to AICM, who is active member of RCLG, for its remarkable contributions to the Responsible Care Promotion in China over the 17 years. AICM, as one of the pioneering organizations, shows its commitment in working with (CPCIF) who also gains significant progress over the years.
However, it is noted that the challenges for China chemical industry are still severe due to the recent accidents and corresponding curbing measures by local governments. Both parties firmly believe that the production stoppage and close-down of industry parks are not the sustainable solution for the sound growth of the industry; Jeff Zhu, Chairman of AICM, on behalf of the Board stated that Responsible Care should be an excellent approach in facing those challenges.
AICM Board shared the draft Sustainable Development report 2019 with the RCLG delegates and both sides agreed to enhance the collaboration in the future to have China embrace Responsible Care in full dimension.
