On 20th May 2019, AICM member companies join in 2019 CHINAPLAS Plastics Recycling & Circular Economy Conference and Showcase in Guangzhou. SABIC, DOW and ExxonMobil join in speech on circular economy, over 450 chemical professionals participated in the conference.
Conference Morning Session
In the morning session, Jeff Liu, senior manager, Market development and technical support petrochemicals, Asia, SABIC made a speech with the topic of Explore & Innovate: making a world of difference, together. He stressed that’ as an international leading chemical company, SABIC believes that plastics is a valuable resource and cannot be wasted easily. SABIC called on working with partners to promote circular economy.’
Afternoon Parallel Modules
In the afternoon, on Parallel modules, Suny Markose, Asia Pacific Recycling Commercial Director, Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics, made the speech on Don’t let it go to waste: Enabling Recycling for a Circular Economy. He shared the business model and strategy for plastic recycling, which is developed by DOW. DOW would like to keep working for a sustainable development and healthy future with partners.
The recycling of plastics is a global growth market, and for good reason. Using lower-cost recycled input can create cost savings for businesses and is great for the environment. Dr. Jade Xu, ADT chair of ExxonMobil Chemical highlighted the value of solution and the latest technology of performance polymers, with topic of Rethink recycle with Vistamaxx performance polymers. They also improve end product quality for high-value applications.
Showcase
SABIC showed a series circular economy solution on the booth based on urbanization, food & water, energy efficiency and sustainability. It included personal hygiene non-woven sheet, EV charger housing, integrated waterway manifold of water purifier and beverage cap that stays on, etc.
Dow introduced their recycle solution and welcome audience visiting their booth on second on on Chinaplas. ExxonMobil Chemical showed vistamaxx on the booth and explain its strengths compared with other polymers.
