In the afternoon of June 19th 2020, AICM hold a half-day sustainability workshop at the Bund Center in Shanghai, and broadcasted on the network in the same time. Roger Wu from Jinmao Law Firm welcomed all and hosted the meeting. RCC chair, Mr. Xiao Li from BASF made an opening speech.
During the meeting, attendants were all followed pandemic instructions which is keeping the distance and wearing the mask all the time as well as avoid the hand contacting as much as possible.
We invited the exporter to interpret the differences between revised version and old version of <pollution prevention law on solid waste>, to help us understand the meaning of critical items and catch up the key points during daily management. After that, the government officer introduced the future supervision focus at the country level after “3.21” major explosion accident last year and corresponding “three-year” action plan at shanghai level, emphasized the management on hazardous waste and shared some non-compliance cases he handled.
After tea break, the expert in sustainable plastic field presented the latest policies and regulations on plastic products control, and challenges as well as opportunities the sustainable plastics industry encountered. Eventually, Roger Wu shared criminal cases regarding with solid waste he dealt with before on condition of anonymity which brought some cautions and inspiration for enterprises during operations.
Overall, there were 15 participants presented onsite, and near 70 attendants online and over 300 man-time watched the program in total.
