Mr. Fuliang Xia, AICM Chairman and President Evonik Greater China Region & Head of Division Smart Materials Asia Pacific, addressed the opening speech, expressed gratitude for members' active participation and reaffirmed AICM's commitment as a bridge for stakeholder engagement.
During the first session, Mr. Marc Horn, AICM Board Member and President of Merck China, Mr. Rui Coelho, AICM Board Member and President and CEO of Air Liquide China, as well as Ms. Tina Dai, AICM Manaing Director shared presentations on the association's key strategic initiatives.
Following, Chairs from committees of AICM delivered each committee’s reports.
Responsible Care Committee (RCC)
Kevin Li, RCC chair, reported RCC 2024 highlights and 2025 plans. In 2024, RCC carried out multiple initiatives to facilitate exchange and collaboration: The fifth edition of AICM Sustainable Development Report was released, focusing on the circular economy. RCC supported CCIP and PSM Seminar. Additionally, RCC continued Uni-lab safety program in collaboration with universities. The committee also optimized its internal structure to better integrate resources. In 2025, RCC will continue to serve as a platform to facilitate exchanges between key industrial parks and member companies. This year will also hold 7th AICM Responsible Care Awards.
Industry Policy Advocacy Committee (IPAC)
Ms. Bing Wang, as IPAC Chair, delivered a committee report on IPAC’s highlights in 2024, and working plan in 2025. IPAC followed strategic priorities in 2024 and made great achievements on avocate on science-based and cost-efficient chemical industry policies & regulations, support the members on practical implementation, fcilitate the international exchanges on chemical industry policies and regulations. According to 2025 work plan and priorities, IPAC will continue to enhance advocacy collaboration with key stakeholders on related hot industry topics in 2025.
Public Relations and Communication Committee (PRCC)
Ms. Angel Jin, Chair of PRCC, first reviewed the work achievements of PRCC in 2024 and then explained the key plans for 2025. In 2024, "Open-to-Public" annual campaign organized by PRCC covered more than 30 cities with over hundreds of employees from member companies serving as volunteers. Through diverse activities, local community personnels benefited. In addition, by cooperation with key media in key communication projects, the recognition and public awareness of AICM jave been further enhanced. In 2025, PRCC will focus on key projects to update a new image for AICM and facilitate the association continue to shape a positive and responsible image in the industry.
Dr. Zhang Guoxiong, Managing Director of Economic Advisory, Deloitte China, was invited to join the conference and presented a keynote report.
To express gratitude for the long-term support and dedication of member companies and industry experts, AICM specially recognized and awarded 10-year and 20-year long-term contributors as well as 2024 annual contributors who have made lasting contributions to the association's development at this conference. This not only affirms the collective progress and joint creation of industry value by all members over the years, but also fully demonstrates AICM's industry cohesion and steadfast confidence in future development.
The successful convening of 2025 AGM has fully demonstrated AICM's vital role as an international chemical association. By establishing high-level dialogue platforms, building consensus among multinational chemical enterprises, and delivering professional think-tank achievements, AICM has demonstrated its active commitment to advancing industry development and facilitating international exchange and cooperation. Moving forward, AICM will continue to unite member companies' strengths to drive technological innovation and industrial upgrading, injecting new momentum into the sustainable development of China's chemical industry.
