Under the global trend of shaping the future through green development, the 2024 OTP Day continued with the theme of "Chemistry Enables a Sustainable Future." AICM has organized this event for 16 consecutive years.
In 2024, nearly 20 AICM member companies once again collaborated, promoting sustainable futures in around 30 cities and chemical parks across China. Member companies engaged in in-depth exchanges with the public from different ages and backgrounds, organizing shared laboratories, family days, parent-child carnivals, green education projects, and public welfare classes, with hundreds of volunteers participating. These ongoing activities deepened the sustainable image of the chemical industry and demonstrated the social responsibility of AICM and its member companies.
AICM awarded the "Illuminate Next Generation Award," "Co-development with Community Award" and "Innovative Carbon Neutrality Award" to outstanding member companies for their performances this year.

Uni-lab Safety Project SOP Competition
2024 marked the second year of the Uni-lab Safety Project jointly organized by AICM and Fudan University. Close cooperation between academia and industry is crucial for advancing laboratory safety management. In this regard, AICM continues to deepen its efforts in promoting Responsible Care®, dedicating itself to organizing high-quality university-industry joint laboratory safety activities. We hope these activities will not only impress students with the importance of laboratory safety but also provide a platform for them to showcase their learning outcomes. At the same time, we encourage students to enhance their safety awareness, learn to flexibly respond to various risks and hazards, and jointly create a safe and orderly experimental environment.
The SOP Competition was also held in the same year. AICM organized experts in environment, health, and safety (EHS) from member companies to mentor participating students and evaluate their submissions. Eleven outstanding teams from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Fudan University demonstrated their unique perspectives, rigorous attitudes, and innovative thinking. By assessing risks, formulating control measures, and updating the SOPs for their respective laboratories, students further solidified their safety awareness and enhanced their practical skills. This is also a model of AICM's university-industry collaboration.
