On September 12, 2024, the 2024 Mayors’ Forum co-hosted by AICM was successfully held in Yantai with CPCIF. The municipal government leaders gathered with the senior executives of AICM member companies discussed how to strengthen cooperation in the fields of New Productive Forces, Dual-Carbon.
AICM currently represents nearly 70 multinational chemical companies with investments and operations in China. In order to build a harmonious society and promote the sustainable development of China's chemical industry, AICM is committed to promote Responsible Care Advocacy and other globally recognized chemical management principles among all stakeholders; enhances public awareness of the chemical industry, and contributes wisdom and expertise to the harmonious and healthy development of the chemical industry.
Municipal government leaders from key petrochemical hubs including Yantai, Ningbo, Panjin, Lianyungang, and Deyang shared their layouts, plans, and progress in the petrochemical industry, highlighting their commitments and advantages in fostering high-end petrochemical sectors. They collectively vowed to facilitate market expansion and foster extended industrial and supply chains for domestic and international enterprises.
In the three panel sessions, leaders communicated topics on “Joint efforts for creating a high-quality business environment: how can the chemical industry develop through the integration of policy, technology, and capital?”, “How do MNCs drive the high-quality development of chemical industry: the practice and challenges of improving and developing industrial chain?” and “Innovation-driven, win-win cooperation: how can Chinese and multinational chemical companies achieve collaborative development and technological breakthroughs?”.
The participants agreed to continue achieving digital reformation, deepening scientific and technical innovation, focusing on the green development, safety and sustainability, and contributing to the industry's high-quality development.
