On Oct. 23, 2020, AICM successfully held an exchange meeting on the sustainable development of plastics used in food contact in Beijing. A total of 13 representatives from 10 member companies attended the meeting.
In recent years, governments and organizations have been actively promoting the sustainable development of plastics. As a raw material supplier, AICM member companies provide chemical materials for various fields, especially plastic products. Therefore, we have been paying attention to plastic recycling and other aspects of sustainable development. AICM member companies will actively participate in the discussion on relevant regulations, standards and technology. Plastic, as the most used material in food packaging, is increasingly becoming an important issue in the discussion of sustainable development. AICM and member companies are very concerned about the recycling and safe use of food contact plastics and the effective use of biodegradable materials.
Key experts from SAMR, NHC, Customs and other departments were specially invited to talk with representatives of industry enterprises. AICM member representatives (SABIC and BASF) shared their understanding and ideas on chemical recovery of plastics monomer and circular economy in food packaging. The experts and representatives had a warm interaction on hot issues of chemical recycling, technical feasibility, product compliance and market prospect.
AICM will continue to provide a communication platform for the revision of laws and regulations, and at the same time pay attention to the hot trends of enterprises in the industry, so as to provide strong support for compliance and efficient development of enterprises.
